Parking

Geva does not own or operate any parking lots/garages, parking is at your own risk. There is paid parking available in a garage operated by the City. The City garage charges $7.00 for special event parking and is located on the Corner of Woodbury Blvd. and Clinton. Cash is not accepted. Another lot is located adjacent to the theatre to the west, on the corner of St. Mary’s Place and Woodbury Boulevard (evenings and weekends only). The special event rate for this lot is $5.00 (cash only) with the attendant. Security is provided at all parking areas during each evening performance until half-an-hour after the show ends.

Directions

From Northeast

Take 59O South to 490 West. Take the Clinton Ave. exit. Geva Theatre Center is located at the first light across from the parking garage

From Northwest

Take 390 South to 490 East. Take the South Ave. Inner Loop exit and follow the South Ave. signs. Turn left at the second light and left at the next light after that. (You will be on Clinton Ave. going north.) Geva Theatre Center is one block ahead on the left.

From Southeast

Take 490 West to the Clinton Ave. exit. Geva Theatre Center is located at the first light.

From Southwest

Take 390 North to 490 East. Take the South Ave. Inner Loop exit and follow the South Ave. signs. Turn left at the second light and left at the next light after that. (You will be on Clinton Ave. going north.) Geva Theatre Center is one block ahead on the left.

By Bus

RTS is the regional, public transportation provider serving both city and suburban travelers. Stops on the RTS system are within easy walking distance Geva. The bus system offers departure points across Monroe County and connecting routes from Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Wayne, and other neighboring counties.

Accessibility

FM Assistive Listening devices are available free of charge for audience members in both the Wilson Stage and Fielding Stage who are hard of hearing. Headset receivers may be obtained prior to performance time at the coat check, located adjacent to the main entrance. A major credit card or form of ID is collected as a security deposit. A personal induction loop that can be worn around the neck may also be obtained with the device to enable the use of a hearing aid T-switch. Geva’s Assistive Listening System is sponsored by the Hearing Loss Association of America – Rochester Chapter, J. Stuart & Phyllis I. MacDonald, and the Hearing Clarity Fund.

Open Captioning for patrons with hearing loss is provided during for slect performances for each Wilson Stage Series and  Fielding Stage Series
productions. When booking your seats, mention your interest in open captioning in order to secure the
most advantageous view of the display on the right of the stage.

A Sunday matinee performance of every Wilson Stage Series production is Audio-Described by a live narrator for patrons who are blind or visually impaired. The pre-performance description of sets and costumes begins after Prologue, at approximately 20 minutes prior to curtain, and visual details are verbalized during the performance. Audio-description receivers and Braille programs are available in the lobby. A major credit card or form of ID is collected as a security deposit for the receiver, and patrons may keep the Braille programs. If you will be bringing your guide dog to the theatre, please inform the box office and request an aisle or front-row seat so that we can make appropriate seating accommodations.

A Sign Language Interpreted performance is offered for every Wilson Stage Series and Fielding Series production. Be sure to mention your interest in sign interpretation when reserving tickets, or select the house right section of the orchestra in the Wilson Stage in order to secure the most advantageous seating. Prologue, the informative talk which is given prior to every Wilson Stage performance, will also be interpreted on the Sign Interpreted dates:

Geva Theatre Center’s Wilson Stage, Fielding Stage, and restrooms are accessible to patrons who use wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers. If you require accessible seating, please inform the box office when you reserve tickets.  Accessible Seating is also available for purchase online.

Geva Theatre Center abides by the Americans with Disabilities Act and New York State law, both of which permit a patron to attend a performance or enter public spaces in our building with a “service animal” or a “service animal in training.” Companion & comfort animals do not fall within the definition of “service animal” or a “service animal in training” and, therefore, are not permitted. If you have questions, please contact our Director of Finance & Operations at 585-420-2056.

Safety

Emergency Contact Procedure

If you anticipate the need to be reached during a performance, you may leave your name and seat location with your contact along with instructions to direct such emergency calls to (585) 232-2026. Alternatively, you may leave your cell phone or pager and your seat location with the House Manager.

Emergency Exits

Clearly marked emergency exits are located throughout the theatre. Flashing lights near these fire exits will signal in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Medical Emergencies

Geva Theatre Center is equipped with an HP Heartstream automated external defibrillator for use in the event of a sudden cardiac emergency.

Inclement Weather

Geva Theatre Center maintains a strict policy of not canceling performances due to inclement weather. Please allow adequate time to travel to the theatre, park and pick up tickets. In the event that travel proves to be impossible at performance time, you may call the Box Office at (585) 232-4382 and we will do our best to reseat you at another performance, subject to availability.

Geva makes it simple to enjoy a complete night out. Open 2 hours before most performances, Godot’s Bar offers full bar service and the Geva Kitchen with our partnership with Nine Spot Brewing, who offers a selection of salads, sandwiches and light fare. Desserts and beverages, including a full bar, are also available during intermission for most shows. To save time, you may place your intermission order prior to the show. Outside food and beverages are prohibited.

Theater FAQ

Refund Policy for Ticket Purchases:
All sales are final. Except in the case of a canceled performance, there will be NO REFUNDS. Single Ticket Exchanges may be made for the same production with at least 24-hours advance notice to the box office. Fees apply. No exchanges can be made from one production to another. If a ticket is returned to the box office at least 24 hours before curtain, the cost of that ticket may be listed as a tax-deductible donation in your name.

Refund for Inclement Weather Policy:
In the event of a show cancellation by Geva Theatre Center due to inclement weather, Geva will exchange your tickets for another performance. If you are unable to attend one of the remaining shows, a refund of your tickets is an available option, but we ask that you consider supporting Geva Theatre Center by either choosing a different show or by making a contribution to the theatre in the amount of your tickets. If neither of those options is acceptable, we will be happy to refund your tickets.
If You Have a Scheduling Conflict

Tickets:
You may exchange your tickets to attend on a different day, up until 48 hours before your performance date. There is a re-seat fee of up to $15 per ticket to exchange, plus all applicable upgrades if you exchange into a higher priced performance. Exchanges by phone or in person only.

In-person Prologue is back! You missed this sneak peek into the play you’re about to see, and we missed it too! Our staff is thrilled to once again present a Prologue before select performances throughout the run of each Wilson Stage show. If your tickets are for a Prologue performance, come an hour before curtain for insights into the world of the show, and some behind the scenes secrets. And, if your tickets don’t fall on a Prologue night, we welcome you to come to the theatre on another day, before or after your ticketed performance, for this free and special program.  Prologue Performance Schedule

You don’t have to be a night owl to enjoy live theatre. Our Early Curtain Tuesday offers a 6pm start time that will have you back home or out to dinner with time to spare. 

Sunday Salon is your opportunity to chat with actors and audience about the show, following select Sunday afternoon performances. Beverages purchased at Geva Theatre Center may be taken into the Wilson Stage and Fielding Stage in disposable cups. Bottles of water are permitted in both the Wilson Stage and Fielding Stage. If you bring a beverage into the theatre, please carry out your trash when you leave.

Children younger than age five are not permitted inside the theatre. Minimum age recommendations are also suggested for Geva productions. Please inquire at the Box Office to determine whether a production may be appropriate for younger audiences or review the show information pages on this website.

The use of electronic devices including cellular phones, pagers, cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited in the theatre. Please do not text during the performance. Please refrain from unwrapping cellophane wrappers during the performance. For the comfort of all patrons, please avoid using strong perfumes, colognes, hairsprays or other strong scents.

In order to provide the finest experience for all of Geva’s patrons, we reserve the right to remove any patron or group of patrons who disturb performers or fellow patrons at any point on Geva’s property. Geva Staff shall give one courtesy warning to anyone causing a disruption. Upon the second such disturbance, the patron or group of patrons shall be escorted from the premises. No refund(s) will be issued.

For the courtesy and safety of the performers and other patrons, anyone arriving after a performance has begun will be seated at the discretion of House Management, possibly not until the first intermission. Please allow adequate time to travel to the theatre, park and pick up tickets. Latecomers may view the performance on a monitor located in the lobby. Should a patron leave the theatre during a performance, re-admittance will be at the sole discretion of the House Manager.
