ELIZABETH WILLIAMSON

Elizabeth Williamson (she/her) joined Geva as Artistic Director in 2022, to launch the theatre’s 50th Anniversary Season. An Obie Award winning director, Williamson is known internationally for her work as a dramaturg, director, adapter and producer. Broadway: Matthew López’ The Inheritance (Tony, Olivier, Critics Circle, Evening Standard, GLAAD, and Drama Desk Awards for Best Play, Outer Critics Circle Honoree), A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Tony Award for Best Musical), Anastasia. West End: The Inheritance. Off-Broadway: Sarah Gancher’s Russian Troll Farm, Dan O’Brien’s The Body of an American. Regional: About Face Theatre, ACT, the Alley, Cal Shakes, Court, Hartford Stage, the La Jolla Playhouse, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Pioneer Theatre, Steppenwolf, Theatre de La Jeune Lune, TheaterWorks Hartford, TheatreSquared, the Westport Country Playhouse, Williamstown Theatre Festival. Williamson previously served as Associate Artistic Director and Literary Manager at Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City and as Associate Artistic Director and Director of New Play Development at Hartford Stage. She received a 2007 NEA Fellowship in Literary Translation and is a member of SDC and LMDA. Education: M.St., Oxford University; B.A., Bennington College; trained at the Ecole Internationale de Théatre Jacques Lecoq.

JAMES HASKINS

James Haskins (he/him) is honored to serve as Geva Theatre’s Executive Director alongside Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson, and Geva’s Board and staff. Prior to coming to Geva, James served as Managing Director of the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis after having completed a twelve-year tenure as Managing Director of The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia in partnership with Artistic Director Blanka Zizka. James began his work in theater administration at Circle Repertory Company and went on to work with a variety of theaters in New York and Seattle, most notably the Seattle Group Theatre. Upon moving to Philadelphia, he first worked as Managing Director of InterAct Theatre Company, while also serving on the Board of the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia as Chair of the Barrymore Awards Oversight Committee. He subsequently moved into the Executive Director position of the Theatre Alliance before joining the Wilma. As a theater artist, James acted in many productions before turning to theater administration and is most proud of his directorial and dramaturgical work on the plays of his husband Michael Whistler. James holds an MFA from the University of Washington and a BA from The College of Wooster in Ohio, where he previously served on the alumni board. Following the pandemic shutdown, James joined committees of the Minnesota Arts and Culture Coalition and the Professional Non-profit Theatre Coalition to help build support and funding for arts and culture. James is a member of the City of Rochester’s Arts and Creative Community Committee (AC3) and serves on the Board of the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation. In Philadelphia, he served on the Cultural Advisory Committee under former Mayor Michael Nutter, who officiated his wedding ceremony.

CHRISTIN EVE CATO

Christin Eve Cato, an award-winning prolific playwright, dramaturg, poet, educator, lyricist, songwriter, and performing artist, emerges from the vibrant streets of the Bronx, bringing with her a profound artistic narrative steeped in the rich tapestry of her Puerto Rican and Jamaican roots. Armed with an MFA in Playwriting from Indiana University and a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Fordham University, Cato’s voice is often distinguished for her ability to create universal stories grounded in culturally specific narratives. Cato’s artistic voice harmonizes with the rhythms of Caribbean culture and the Afro-Latinx diaspora. Her journey in song and lyric writing was ignited during her formative years at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music and Art and the Performing Arts, where she was classically trained in vocal music. Immersed in the pulsating heart of New York City’s theatrical landscape, Cato has become an indispensable thread in the cultural fabric. She holds esteemed positions such as ensemble member and former Resident Dramaturg at Pregones/PRTT, a founding UNIT 52 ensemble member at INTAR Theatre, and a playwright in the WP Theater 2022-2024 Pipeline Lab. Additionally, she is a former Core Apprentice and current educator at the Playwrights Center, a member and affiliated playwright of The Latinx Playwrights Circle, an associated artist with The Sol Project, and a seasonal roundtable dramaturg at the Musical Theatre Factory.

Cato’s span of work includes the 2024 Obie award-generating play, Sancocho, which premiered Off-Broadway at the WP Theatre (March 2023; co-produced by the Latinx Playwrights Circle, WP Theatre, and The Sol Project), and garnered high acclaim. Before Sancocho made its off-Broadway debut in NYC, it graced the Chicago theatre scene for the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance’s 2022 Destinos Theater Festival (produced by Visión Latino Theatre Company). The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Reader lauded the play, emphasizing its resonant family dynamics and critiques of generational trauma. The Chicago Tribune celebrated Sancocho as “a multi-sensory experience”, and The Chicago Reader declared it as “rich family fare”.

Other recent productions include O.K.!, which premiered Off-Broadway at INTAR Theater in May 2025, for which she won the 2025 HOLA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Playwriting, and the cast won the HOLA Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance. Releasing soon is a six-part audio series called Lone Star, produced by Meet Cute, a 20th Century FOX Studios company, later in November 2025. 

As a performer, Cato is explosive on the stage and periodically performs throughout New York City and across America, entertaining audiences of all kinds. She has also originated roles in productions at Pregones/PRTT and INTAR Theatre, working alongside legendary playwrights like Migdalia Cruz, Candido Tirado, Octavio Solis, and many others. Her versatility extends to dramaturgy, with recent credits including contributions to Somewhere at Geva Theatre Center and The Comedy of Errors at The Pubic. Beyond the stage, Cato’s impact extends to film, where she has produced, starred in, and written award-winning independent short films that have been showcased at prestigious festivals, including the Chicago Latino Film Festival, the New York Latino Film Festival, and the Las Cruces International Film Festival. Her latest short film, American Made, an adaptation of her original short play (a finalist for the 2022 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival), reached international audiences as an official selection of the 2023 Toronto Lift-Off Film Festival.

An advocate for diversity and inclusion, Cato’s efforts have earned her recognition from celebrities like John Leguizamo- you can find Cato making a cameo appearance on the MSNBC docuseries, Leguizamo Does America, commenting about the importance of amplifying Latiné stories and writers in both the film and theatre industries. Cato prides herself in being a cultural archivist, writing stories that define our shared human experience. ​

Christin Eve Cato is more than an artist; she is a trailblazer shaping the narratives of today and tomorrow. She has been named and is an awardee of the Negocios Now: 40 under 40 Leaders of Latino Excellence.  She has received recognition, including the 2020 Greater Good Commission recipient for Afro-Latinx writers and the 2021 ReImagine New Plays in TYA grant, second place prize winner in the 2023 Miranda Family Voces Latinx Competition, and the 2023 HOLA award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Playwriting. She is represented by WME Agency and 3 Arts Entertainment and is a proud member of The Dramatists Guild and Actors Equity Association.

JOSEPH BIAGINI

Joseph Biagini (he/him) is glad to be joining the Geva Theatre team. His practice as a theatre-maker has been a multi-disciplinary journey, informing his work as a line producer and production manager today. Most recently, he was the Associate Producer at Perseverance Theatre (Juneau & Anchorage, Alaska) 2019-24, where he was the project manager for their mainstage productions and a facilitator in new work development. He has also served as the National New Play Network’s Producer in Residence for Perseverance, and before that, the Producing & Community Programs Fellow for Baltimore Center Stage. His work is driven by principles of emergent strategy, anti-racism and anti-oppression, producing art with an eye towards civic, social, and fiscal relationships. He holds a love for the outdoors, love for dogs, and a B.A. in Theatre and Economics from The College of William & Mary.

FRANK DEL VECCHIO

Frank Del Vecchio (he/him) is in his 25th season with Geva Theatre joining the company in 2000. He was the Associate Director of Finance for most of his tenure and has recently joined the senior leadership team as Controller. He oversees financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting compliance, budget and outlook preparation and payroll among other duties. He is proud to have been part of Geva’s growth over the years. Born and raised in Rochester’s suburb of Greece. In addition, he graduated from St. John Fisher College, BS and Rochester Institute of Technology, MS.

JASMINE B. GUNTER

Jasmine B. Gunter (she/her) is Geva Theatre’s Resident Director/Associate Producer. Previously, she worked as the casting director at Remy Bumppo and casting associate at Writers Theatre in Chicago IL. While based in Chicago, Jasmine studied at Northwestern University as an MFA Directing candidate. She is the 2021 recipient of the Hangar Directing Drama League fellowship, the 2020 recipient of the Leighton M. Ballew Directing Scholarship, and a SDC member. Recent directing credits include The Love Object ( Story Theatre) The Revolutionists (Northwestern University), jump (Northwestern University) Lost Girl (Hangar Theatre), The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Hangar Theatre), Hedda Gabler (Northwestern University) Wine in the Wilderness (Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts), Intimate Apparel (SUNY Brockport), Ghost Story (Kane Repertory Theatre), Lines in the Dust (Geva Theatre Center), Reroute (24 Hour Plays: Nationals). Assistant directing: Nina Simone: Four Women (Arena Stage), In the Heights (Seattle Rep), Quixote Nuevo (Hartford Stage/Huntington Theatre Company), and The Luckiest People (Actors Theatre of Charlotte/NNPN).  Jasmine has also taught at the Berkshire Theatre Group and the Redhouse Arts Center in Syracuse, NY.

SARAH HALEY

Sarah Haley (she/her) joined the Geva team in September of 2023 and has spent the last decade in the general marketing world of regional theatre. She was born and raised in the Finger Lakes area and is thrilled to be back. Prior to her return to Rochester, she served as the Director of Marketing for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison, NJ where she led the successful redesign and launch of the company’s brand-new website and acted at department head for the Marketing, Box Office, and Front of House teams. She spent time in Sarasota, FL with Florida Studio Theatre where she was their lead graphic designer as well as in house photographer, working across multiple stages and venues. Her career began at Chautauqua Theatre Company, the resident professional theater and Conservatory of Chautauqua Institution, where she was proud to be a part of the workshop process for Noah Haidle’s Birthday Candles, which made its Broadway debut at Roundabout Theatre Company in March of 2022. Education: Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.

GITANA MIROCHNIK

Gitana Mirochnik (she/her) Prior to joining Geva, Gitana served as the Director of Philanthropy at the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester. During her time at Jewish Federation, Gitana took on a variety of roles, including young professional engagement and most recently leading the Women’s Philanthropy division. Gitana’s professional background also includes marketing, journalism and telecommunications. Gitana brings a unique perspective as a community-minded religious refugee, a mother and art enthusiast. Gitana is excited to continue serving the community in this new role.

JEFFREY L. PAGE

Jeffrey L. Page (he/him) is an Emmy-nominated director and choreographer recognized internationally for his innovative contributions to theater, opera, and film. His distinct approach seamlessly integrates classical forms with contemporary styles, enriching narratives through dynamic movement and culturally resonant storytelling. Page made Broadway history with his co-direction and choreography for the acclaimed revival of 1776, earning him the prestigious Douglas and Ethel Watt Critics’ Choice Award from the Chita Rivera Awards. His direction of Ain’t Misbehavin” at Barrington Stage Company was distinguished as a New York Times Critics’ Pick and praised for its compelling revitalization of traditional narratives. His production of Cost of Living at Philadelphia Theatre Company earned him the 2025 “Director of the Year” award from The Young-Howze Theatre Awards, noted for its profound authenticity and nuanced representation of underrepresented communities. Internationally, Jeffrey has left a significant mark with his directorial work on Memphis and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie with Horipro in Tokyo, demonstrating his global influence and appeal. His extensive collaboration with Beyoncé, spanning over a decade, includes notable projects such as the Formation World Tour, her iconic Coachella performance, and numerous HBO specials, earning him an MTV Video Music Award. In cinema, Jeffrey directed the acclaimed short films Making Micheaux and TakTakShoo and the award-winning documentary Blues People, screened internationally at multiple film festivals. Academically, Jeffrey was the first African American to be awarded the Marcus Institute Opera Directing Fellowship at The Juilliard School. He currently serves as the Director of the Harvard Dance Project and is Artist in Residence at Geva Theatre. As founder and CEO of Movin’ Legacy, Jeffrey champions the preservation and innovative expression of African and African diasporic dance traditions, reflecting his deep commitment to cultural heritage and education.

JACQUELINE RAYMOND WEGMAN

Jacqueline Raymond Wegman (she/her) is thrilled to join the team at Geva as Director of Connectivity (Education, Engagement & Access)! Prior to relocating to Rochester for the position, she spent nearly two decades in New York City working as an actor, theatre educator, and arts administrator. Jacqueline has created applied and educational theatre programs from early childhood through adulthood in the U.S. and internationally. She is an Arthur Miller Foundation Scholar who has worked extensively as both a teaching artist and certified theater teacher in the NYC Department of Education as well as with a multitude of arts organizations, conservatories, and colleges. A passionate arts education advocate Jacqueline is Co-Founder of the nonprofit International Girls Ensemble, where she created and facilitated theatre education programs in Southeast Asia, Kenya, and South Sudan. She holds an MSEd in Educational Theatre from The City College of New York and a BFA in Theatre Performance from the University at Buffalo.
