Wardrobe Supervisor
SUMMARY
The Wardrobe Supervisor leads the smooth running of the wardrobe, wigs, hair, and make-up aspects of shows, hiring and supervising backstage wardrobe crews in collaboration with the Costume Shop Supervisor, and maintaining the backstage and onstage areas and equipment. Also responsible for Geva’s core values of artistic courage, sustainability, excellence, boundless hospitality, empathy and transparency, and anti-racism and inclusion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and support the wardrobe crew personnel to promote a safe, healthy, and productive working environment.
- Monitor safety procedures and the safe operation of tools and equipment.
- With Costume Shop Supervisor, determine needs and hire backstage wardrobe crew for each production.
- Assign tasks to crew during technical rehearsals, determine schedules for backstage wardrobe crew.
- Establish and communicate performance expectations and duties to staff.
- Create and maintain accurate paperwork for wardrobe crew, including maintenance lists, cleaning lists, and pieces lists.
- Hold a wardrobe crew track, either as run-of-show or as maintenance, or swing in as a shadow to cover a track due to a wardrobe crew member being out.
- Maintain relationships with local freelance wardrobe crew members.
- Train and onboard new wardrobe crew members.
- Troubleshoot, touch-up and repair costume, hair, wig, and make-up elements as needed during checks and performances.
- Actively participate in regular team building, fostering a work environment of artistic excellence, community, equity, diversity, inclusion, and financial responsibility.
- Attend department head meetings and production meetings. Run wardrobe team meetings to communicate pertinent information to employees.
- Coach and develop staff by monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback; facilitating conflict resolution among employees; ensuring adherence to legal and organizational policies and procedures and undertaking disciplinary actions if the need arises; and completing annual performance evaluations.
- Maintain and approve direct report timesheets, annual performance reviews, personal time off requests, and other personnel records.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Required
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional Wardrobe environment
- Experience, ability and commitment to working with diverse groups in terms of gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class and immigrant status.
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles.
- Knowledge of fabric cleaning techniques to effectively maintain costumes.
- Skill in sewing and costume construction and alteration in order to effectively repair costumes
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects to assist staff in using time effectively.
- Capacity to solve problems and engage in creative thinking about challenges
- Knowledge of current best health and safety practice within the US Theatre Industry
- Exhibit empathy, kindness, diplomacy, and humor in the workplace.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, crouch, twist, turn, bend, stoop, stand and sit for extended periods of time, perform tasks involving repetitive motion (i.e. hand sewing, machine sewing, cutting, pressing, etc.)
Compensation starts at $20.00/hr. The start date for this job is October 12th, 2026.

Donor Engagement Officer
Geva Theatre, a LORT B regional theatre in the heart of Rochester, NY with an annual operating budget of $8.5 million, seeks a dynamic and experienced Donor Engagement Officer to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors in the $250-$2,499 range. This frontline fundraiser will manage a portfolio of 250–300 donors and prospects, building lasting relationships to acquire, retain, and upgrade gifts while connecting supporters to Geva’s artistic mission.
This position reports to the Director of Development and serves as an integral member of the Development Team. The Donor Engagement Officer will work closely with the Director of Development to establish goals and benchmarks, specifically targeting: increased number of mid-level donors; increased total revenue from the mid-level donor segment; improved donor retention rates; and successful gift upgrades from retained donors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Donor Engagement (35%) – Identify, qualify, and cultivate mid-level donors through personal outreach, events, and tailored experiences.
- Solicitation (40%) – Develop and execute strategies to renew, upgrade, and acquire gifts, leveraging annual fund drives, targeted campaigns, and special appeals.
- Stewardship (15%) – Provide personalized acknowledgments, coordinate donor experiences, and ensure accurate recognition across all platforms.
- Data & Reporting (10%) – Maintain accurate donor records, track progress, and report regularly on portfolio activity.

DESIRED TRAITS IN A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
- 3–4 years of proven success in fundraising, sales, or relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to close gifts, build relationships, and meet revenue goals.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Comfort with direct donor outreach and solicitation.
- Experience engaging with diverse communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; donor database experience.
- Passion for live theatre and the arts.
Preferred: Nonprofit fundraising experience, knowledge of the Rochester philanthropic community, and familiarity with planned giving or multi-year campaigns.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary and benefits commensurate with experience ranging from $25-$28/hr.

House Manager
House Managers are responsible for overseeing Front of House operations involving patrons and volunteers at Geva Theatre and helping ensure a welcoming, clean, and professional environment throughout the patron experience. House Managers report directly to the Assistant Guest Services Manager.
House Managers interact directly with patrons, volunteers, Bar Staff, Box Office Staff, and Stage Management and on occasion interact with Geva’s kitchen partners and other members of Staff.
Start Date: Training may begin as early as the week of August 31st. Regular shifts to begin September 9th dependent on show schedule.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Foster a cheerful and professional environment at all times for patrons, volunteers, and staff.
- Lead pre-show preparations and volunteer/usher briefings
- Oversee and assist volunteers throughout the performance, including post-show house cleanup
- Assist patrons with seating, accessibility, wayfinding, etc.
- House Managers, in coordination with Bar Staff and other Front of House staff, share responsibility for maintaining clean and welcoming public spaces throughout performances and events. This includes regular walkthroughs of the lobby, donor lounge, restrooms, and other patron areas to identify and address patron needs and facility concerns; clear items from tables and seating areas; check restrooms for cleanliness and supplies; and address or report issues as appropriate.
- Assist with maintaining safe patron areas during inclement weather when Facilities staff are not available, including monitoring entrances, walkways, lobby area, and restrooms for weather-related hazards. As needed, duties may include light shoveling, applying ice melt/salt, and mopping wet floors. Report larger snow, ice, water, or facility concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Respond to patron incidents, emergencies, and other Front of House concerns in accordance with Geva’s established procedures, communicating with Stage Management and other staff as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Availability to work multiple nights and weekends, with occasional special events as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on email correspondence, Salesforce.com, and in-person communication.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods, navigating stairs, bending and reaching, and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Three years of experience with similar responsibilities and/or qualifications is preferred but not required.

Bartender
Geva Theatre is seeking an energetic, customer-focused bartender to join our Front of House team. In this fast-paced role, you’ll take food orders, serve beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages to theatre patrons 2 hours prior to shows and during intermissions (when applicable), all while delivering outstanding service with efficiency.
Start Date: Training may begin as early as the week of August 31st. Regular shifts to begin September 9th dependent on show schedule.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining all health and food safety protocols per Geva and NYS policies
- Verify the age of all guests who purchase alcohol in accordance with company policy. Limiting sales only to guests who are at least 21 years of age.
- Accurately taking all food orders from customers and sending them to the kitchen
- Bussing and cleaning tables during and after dinner and intermission
- Restocking, assessing inventory needs for management, and proper inventory (pour) control
- Lifting and transporting up to 35 lbs. from basement walk-in cooler (we have carts and elevator)
- Assist with bar setup and breakdown before and after performances
- Provide friendly, attentive service to a diverse audience
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a high-volume environment preferred
- In accordance with NYS laws, anyone serving alcohol must be 18+ years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining excellent service
- Availability for evenings and weekends, with a flexible schedule to align with theatre performances
- A background check is required for this position.
Pay: $11/hr+tips. The position is seasonal, part time in alignment with our current show schedule. Shifts range from 3-5 hours.

Lounge Attendant
We are seeking a friendly, attentive Lounge Attendant to provide top-tier service to our donors of the theatre. This role involves occasionally serving wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. You will also take food orders and send them to the kitchen and ensure prompt delivery. While the pace of this space is lighter than our main bar, attention to detail and hospitality are key.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serve select wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages to donors and their special guests
- Create a welcoming, comfortable environment in the Donor Lounge
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well stocked service area
- Handle POS transactions when required, ensuring accuracy.
- Follow all alcohol service laws and theatre policies
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or beverage service experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm, polished demeanor
- Must be 18+ in accordance with NYS laws.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends in alignment with the theatres performance schedule
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism when working with donors
- A background check is required for this position.

Run Crew Positions
Geva Theatre, a professional regional theatre in Rochester, NY with LORT B & D stages, seeks qualified run crew members for its productions. We are looking to hire stagehands, follow spot operators, A2s, wardrobe crew, production assistants, and light and sound board operators. Each production will require approximately a 6-8 week commitment.
The primary responsibility will be attending all technical rehearsals and performances (8 shows a week) for each production. Performances are weeknights, weekend afternoons and weekend evenings. Crew calls involve any necessary preshow set up and post show restore for the position assigned.
Candidates must have demonstrated skill in the area they are applying for and at least some experience in the live professional theatre. Pay rate of $16.50 per hour. These are ideal jobs for early career candidates or recent college graduates. We are particularly interested in candidates from the greater Rochester area.

Production Overhire
Geva Theatre, a professional regional theatre in Rochester, NY with LORT B & D stages, seeks qualified run crew members for its productions. We are looking to hire the following positions: Scenic Carpenter, Scenic Artist, Props Artisan, Stitcher, Costume Crafts, Electricians, and Audio Technicians.
Under the supervision of the applicable Production department head, job duties will include the construction, installation, maintenance, modification, or removal of various production elements. The ideal candidate will be diligent, organized, collaborative, positive and professional and have some experience in the area that they are applying.
Positions are on a temporary, “show-by-show” basis, may be part-time, and may require evening and weekend work hours. Applications are accepted and filed on an ongoing basis, if a position is needed candidates that have applied will be contacted. Pay rate of $16.50 an hour.

Casting
Geva is a member of the League of Resident Theatres and works under an agreement with Actors Equity Association (AEA), the union of professional actors and stage managers. By agreement, most (but not all) adult actors are required to be members of AEA.
General auditions for both union and non-union actors are held annually, prior to the beginning of each new season, at which time local actors are invited to present monologues and/or songs.
