Summer Academy Showcase

About the Show

The Geva Theatre Center Conservatory Summer Academy is a four-week professional theatre training program for 30 selected young actors, ages 12-18, who wish to explore, define, and develop the actor in themselves. A process-centered program open to students of all levels of theatre experience, Summer Academy 2024 will provide quality training for the beginning actor, as well as advanced level study for the young actor with previous experience. Geva’s Summer Academy faculty is comprised of a diverse group of professional actors, educators, directors, choreographers, and more who are active in the industry at the collegiate level, regionally, on tours, Off-Broadway, and on Broadway. They are skilled in nurturing young actors with a curriculum designed to embrace, engage, explore, and empower in an artistically safe and strong environment. Class sizes are intentionally small to facilitate personal and individual focus, along with in-depth opportunities tailored to specific goals for each student. At Summer Academy, students invest in themselves and their craft. They discover the stories they need to tell and why they need to tell them. The focus of the program this year is Shakespeare and other heightened language texts. Students will graduate from Summer Academy with a strong foundational toolbox including headshot, resume, bio, a professional showcase (which is open to the public), and a ticket to each show in Geva’s 2024-2025 season.
