April 5, 2010. Rochester, N.Y. - Ever since TheatreFest (September 2007 - June 2008), the Nextstage has been a venue hosting many of the cultural delights that this area has to offer. From April 22 - June 12, Geva is delighted to host three area performing arts groups in an eclectic mix of music, magic, dance and drag in SpringFest 2010.

Igor Lipinski in The Unknown
A One-Man Show of Music & Magic
April 22 - May 2

The Unknown - a one-man show of music & magic - is a unique blend of mystery, deception and drama. Igor Lipinski, a classically trained pianist and professional magician, creates tricks that defy explanation and performs thought-provoking music that triggers the imagination. The Unknown is a creative performance that invites the audience to experience the new territory of magic and music.

Geomantics Dance Theater presents
Do Animals Meditate?

May 13 - 23

This new show contains unique dances which satirize our media saturated society, empathize with the outcasts and the wallflowers among us, and spiritualize thru original visceral moves our beautiful animal bodies. All the dances are punchy, poignant and pleasing. An evening with something for everyone.

Method Machine presents
Michael Steck's
The Lipstick Massacre
A Murder Mystery
Directed by David Henderson
May 27 - June 12

The Lipstick Massacre is a new murder mystery play from the twisted mind of Rochester's Michael Steck. Pandora Boxx stars as Daphne Von Hausenpfeffer, the current 'it' girl of local TV commercials, who quickly becomes the center of a murder investigation when her competition begins to get picked off one by one. The bumbling Detective is on the case but he'll need the help of his erstwhile protege and the town's leading talent agent, Cookie McDoogle. They work the town of Flushing Hollow and its wacky residents to try and stop the rising body count. Take a sprinkle of greed, a dash of boozy cougars, a pinch of sexual exploits, and a nun, shake it all up and you have all the ingredients you'll need to crack the case of The Lipstick Massacre!

Michael Steck is a writer, entertainer and film maker, most famously known for his drag persona, Pandora Boxx. Pandora is a cast member of RuPaul's Drag Race (Season 2) on the cable channel Logo and VH1. Kasha Davis, a drag sensation (aka Ed Popil), is known for her series of Kasha Cooks!, short films made with Michael Steck.

The 2009/2010 Nextstage Season is sponsored by Nazareth College.
